The nomination list for the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award was recently published which will hold at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, on June 25, 2017. This annual event is put up to celebrate and recognize African Americans and other minorities in different spheres of life such as music, movies, sports and so on.
Interestingly, our very own, Wizkid, Davido, Tekno, and Mr Eazi will be competing for the coveted prize against other African acts such as Stonebwoy (Ghana), Aka (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa) and Babes Wodumo (South Africa). All acts have been nominated for the Best International Act Category.
However this will be the fourth nomination for Wizkid knowing he took home the prize back in 2012. Davido also won the award in 2014 for the same category. While for Tekno and Mr Eazi, this obviously will be their debut appearance.
This years edition is particularly controversial knowing that all 4 acts have performed remarkably well in the last year, not just in the local scene but as far as gaining more international recognition.
